Boiler scale remover
DESCRIPTION
A liquid scale remover for cleaning heat exchange surfaces of deposits that impair efficiency. The use of Welson GH55 eliminates costly down time and expensive manual descaling. Welson GH55 contains a surfactant for quicker penetration into deposits. The inhibitor contained in Welson GH55 prevents any serious attack on the base metal after solution of heat exchanger deposits is complete.
USAGE
For general descaling of heat exchanger units, boilers, evaporators, etc., mix 30 liters of Welson GH55 to every 100 liters of water required to fill the system. The solution should be heated to 54°C. (130°F) for best results. Circulate the solution through the heat exchanger by use of a pump, or agitate the solution by bubbling steam or air through the exchanger. If steam is used for agitation, the steam should be discontinued when the temperature of the solution reaches 71°C. (160°F). Higher temperatures reduce the effectiveness of the inhibitor. System should be ventilated to the atmosphere at all times during cleaning.
Depending on the quantity and the nature of deposits, most types of scale will be removed in 4 to 12 hours. When unusually heavy deposits are encountered, a sample of scale should be immersed in the recommended solution strength to determine the approximate time necessary for removal.
When cleaning operation is completed, the system should be flushed thoroughly with fresh water. An alkaline solution, such as Welson AC, etc., should then be circulated to passivate the metal surfaces.
Cleaning and descaling marine equipment, air-conditioning condensers, evaporators, boilers, condensers, Butterworth heaters and other heat exchangers.
PRECAUTIONS
As in working with any acid, precaution should be exercised to avoid prolonged contact with skin. If contact is made with eyes, flush with water and seek medical attention. See additional precautions on drum label.
